#2 c-is-for-cancer.jpg

For this challenge you had to create a big initial letter art. Since I was recently diagnosed with cancer, I chose C. This was not a big surprise to me, I have a genetic blood disorder that is known to evolve to cancer. So I was prepared, if anyone is, for this; and luckily my cancer has a life expectancy of 10+ years. But everyone has a cancer story—in their family, their loved ones, their dear friends, their work colleagues or even themselves—I'm not going on journey back to health alone. And I do have much more art to create and more stories to write. Oh and margaritas to drink.

Used a paper and letter element from Anna Aspnes.

Thanks for looking.

I wish you much success in this fight against cancer. I think using the photo of cancer cells is a great idea. Thank you for joining the challenge.

Your layout is beautiful and such a wonderful expression of your current reality. I like the soft purple you used - purple for healing. You're right that everyone has a story, thanks for sharing yours. I look forward to seeing more of your art and wish you the best! :heartpumppink:

Oh no, I don't like the "c" word, even though I've been remarkably untouched by it (skin cancers don't count for much, thank goodness). How brave of you to put it front and center and keep a positive attitude. You are my hero right now!

C is for Courage, which has always been in your head and in your heart (c'mon, I remember some of those C-is-for-Crazy-Cool layouts in your portfolio!). As a 6-year survivor of back-to-back diagnoses, I know that C also stands for Complicated because of the R-is-for-roller-coaster of feelings. Like Miki said, here for you.
