That's Not a Mask!

Ron finished up Round 1 of his radiation treatments Sept 1, five SABR treatments on two spots (neck and upper back). He kept talking about the custom ‘mask’ they made him. Then he showed me a picture of one. That’s not a mask! It’s a restraint that locks him in position on the table, very uncomfortable and claustrophobic. Each treatment is about 15-20 min. and they gave him a break in between each area.

They gave it to him when he finished. He said, ‘What am I supposed to do with that?” The nurse just laughed and said, “Well, it’s almost Halloween.” So, Tracy is trying to figure out how to make a costume out of it. I told her to take it, or it’s going in the dump. He starts Round 2 Sept. 27, 5 more rounds on three spots (one rib and two on the pelvis).

Wonderful layout and storytelling. I know an artist that painted and collaged a similar 'mask' after her treatments. I'm also looking forward to see your Halloween layout.

Congrats on finishing the radiation. I remember how tired I was. Hope all the cancer is gone.

Great story, well except for the diagnosis and experience.I like how the template worked. Good luck to both of you.

This sounds difficult, I think I would want to dump it. I hope the treatments are successful.

Well documented.Thinking of Ron and enjoy his humor. Hope all goes well.
