Walk your own Path

Finally, the summer heat gave way to some cooler temps Sunday. We still didn’t get any of the rain they promised. But at least it’s not torture to go outside. My path this morning was a ride through the pasture, to check out 8 new calves. Curiously, they are all light-colored, either white, blonde, tan, or light brown or gray. The mama cows are all black. Clayton only brought 8 heifers this summer, as the pond hasn’t quite recovered from last year’s drought. Tilly got a little too close and was chased away by one of the mama cows, so we backed off.

I started by blending 3 photos together, clipped to the masks of 3 fotoblendz, some layers removed or rearranged, some layers recolored and the photos lightened with Levels Adj. For the background, AP2 was blended with SP5, blend mode Multiply. Added Artsy Transfer near the bottom with a photo of a field of yellow flowers (from the internet) clipped to two transfer layers and another photo of mine of blackberries, duplicated and placed over the yellow flowers, masked with brushes, blend mode Overlay. I added a copy of the paper from AT2, placed directly on top of the same paper in the AP, filled with color, blend mode Linear Burn. Completed with MultiMedia, elements, word art w/edits, Take Flight and splatter brush, mini red heart and journaling.

What a sweet photo - it's hard to imagine having cows :) Right out of "All Creatures Great and Small: :) Love your foreground cluster and title!

What a great page and documentation. It must have been wonderful to have gotten out in the cooler weather and checked on the calves and their mommas.

Love the pastoral scene. Lots of cows dot the countryside in my area. Beautiful and peaceful.

Yes, you just don't want to get too close when they have babies, they can be scary.
