The kids' candle business is robust and successful so they don't do markets, but this music festival had some interesting headliners and was in the spirit of community—to support agriculture in the Hudson Valley of NY. But the event was poorly managed, with the vendor area being set up about a mile downhill from the music and the food. Maybe a handful of people made their way down the hill on the first day. The organizers' response to the vendors asking to be moved closer was "if you don't like it, leave." So all the vendors cut their losses and packed up and left. Last Fall this same organization was involved in a fiber festival that later turned into the Mother of all Disasters, and I don't really know why I'm documenting this for the baby book—maybe because it's Elliott's first market ever and someday he will want to know the story.
I started this layout with background paper #2, pairing it with Fotoblendz Overlay #2 and adding my image. I extended the image area by adding Fotoblendz Overlay #3 with a duplicate of the photo clipped in. I then added the extraction of my daughter and grandson, placing them on the display table, then added wordART, the story, and two MultiMedia Elements. I added a silver FotoGlo to make the sign and bird pop and then other FotoGlos throughout the layout just for extra light. I finished up with a number of transfers and overlays from the Artplay Palette.
