I've been wanting to try some of the faded photo effects I've been seeing in the aA gallery, so I worked with two recent photos of my grandson to experiment. Doing chores at not-even-2! Well done, young man!
This layout features the DeFacto Collection, (https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Artplay-De-Facto-Collection.html), which is currently on sale until September 11. My faded photo effect wasn't anything fancy. I added the cell-phone extraction and used screen blend mode at 100 percent opacity for the fade. Because the photo was on a dark background, this was enough. But when I messed around with a lighter background, I had to add a duplicate of the extraction and fiddle around with other blending modes so the photo wouldn't totally wash out. I wound up going with the dark background for a more literal "sort-of-faded" look. The dishwasher photo is simply clipped to a brush. While I liked the faded photo overall, I didn't like losing the truck-turned-snack-cup, so I amplified that with a black photoglo from the Crazy Life Artplay Palette on Overlay blend mode. Since my page was about my grandson's growth, I kept going with the faded look, adding a wood word on hard light blending mode at 47% opacity, with a blue transfer from Crazy Life clipped to it. The clock is blended into the background with hard light blending mode, and some teal brushes enrich the background.
