A page for my grand's baby book about those who came before on the maternal side, using cell phone photos that were snapped from snapshots of paper copies of the originals and emailed to me. (Artsy stains and brushes to the rescue.) I have another page to do about my father's parents.
This design was an exercise in working with what you've got. I started by dragging all the images onto the page, arranging them in approximate position, and eliminating the relatives who were positioned at the table between my grandparents to leave more room for the photo of my mother. To hide the left edge of that photo, I snipped a bit off the frame included in the Fabric Artplay Palette and added that. I then blasted the layout with Threadz and added the scissors. I added one angel wing for my mother (editorial comment). Other things: I used the pencil tool in PSE to freehand-outline the ripped top of the the photo of my mother (to suggest castle turrets) and the yearbook clipping of my father, added lots of spackle/tape/paper textures, and applied a couple of gradients to deepen the tones on the images.
