July Art Journaling Challenge ~ Week 3 {COURAGE}

Our word prompt for July is courage. I used a quote by John Wayne, which ties in both our love for anything western and our love of horses. I've been struggling pretty badly for the last week or so and was completely stalled on this challenge for July. After many "false starts", i had an epiphany last night and this page is the result of that. Tomorrow (7-22-24) will be the 6th month anniversary of Chuck's passing.

Loss is so difficult on so many levels, especially if it is your other half. I cannot come close to imagining what you are going through, it is my greatest fear. You have courage, and love that you keep saddling up!!

Thank you for your sweet and kind words, Lynne. I'm not going to sugar coat it - it's been very difficult. Working through my grief, by scrapping these pages, has been so gut wrenching, but healing at the same time. I'm so glad I decided to work through this with my art. My husband didn't want me to stop creating my art. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

My Dad used to do a mean John Wayne, so your page brought my dad back to me for a second. I love the way you portrayed this - and seeing Chuck on those stairs with wings gave me chills.
