He is returning to a life time of habits - pick up book and read . . . He spends most of his days in therapy and dialysis. He shows improvement with his physical therapy and struggles with his expressive aphasia. He needs time to heal and to rediscover himself.

APP Lost Artsy Paper 1 creates the foundation. The photo was altered in the Prisma app and clipped to the Artsy Transfer. An assortment of photo glows added a light more light to the photo. Transfers and overlays were added to the layers. Adjustments were made to the opacity and the blending modes. The elements received blending modes. The clock was set to SoftLight. The flowers were duplicated with one layer set to ColorBurn. This layer was blended into the background. The top layer was masked to keep the dimensions and blend it into the background.

I like the sombre colours of the (edited?) photo, the textures that add a dramatic touch to the whole situation and the lovely flower clustering that conveys hope.
