I tried my luck photographing bank swallows. "Hit and miss" is another understatement! I spent more time waiting than photographing, and the result? Close-ups of beautiful nest holes, but hardly a swallow in sight. They were there though...everywhere, but not in my photos. It's almost as if they were playing a game with me, advanced hide-and-seek.
It was a learning (and frustrating) day, full of failed attempts and a growing respect for these fast flyers. The perfect photo will come, though it will take some time. And in the meantime, I'm enjoying my collection of nest hole photos. Who would have thought I would one day become an expert at capturing.... holes?
