As I sit at the shore I remember...
the smell of the lake, the sounds of the waves, boats,
and the laughter. I remember playing in the water with you
and with Mom, You didn’t care for swimming like she did.
Neither do I. But I remember you, Dad, working so hard-
most of my childhood you were working 3 jobs. You were a good
Provider, role model, and Father. The times I enjoyed most were of course,
when we went here- to the Lake. And annual family
vacations. I remember building sandcastles and eating
baloney sandwiches & chips at picnic tables. And the snow forts you built!
I remember waiting for you to come home on Friday Pay Days
so we could have a treat- Stewart’s Root Beer or Ice Cream or pizza.
Now I sit waiting for you to GO home...
slowly I am letting go...
finding the courage to face the future without
you here. But we will reunite on the golden street, and
then I will know what you are soon to see.
I love you, Dad.
Have a great flight into The Light of the World.

So very beautiful. The saturated colors and artwork are wonderful, but your journaling and expression of the emotional depths of your journey are heart stopping-ly beautiful and painful all at once. You have such a poetic way of expressing your grief in midst of the long good bye. Hugs to you.

WOW! So powerful. The beautiful scene drew me in and then your journaling. What a powerful layout of saying goodbye and remembering the important things. The love and joy of the fun times. The addition of the dragonfly on the pocket watch. The photo of you (I assume its you) sitting on the beach watching over the water. So profound and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing this journey with us, its heartbreakingly beautiful.

I’m inspired by your ability to create such a visually stunning and interesting art journal page. It’s truly remarkable!

Your journaling touched me deeply as I have lost my daddy and the feelings are palpable in your journaling! The baby shoes are a great touch as is the warm colors of sunset.
