As I sit at the shore I remember...
the smell of the lake, the sounds of the waves, boats,
and the laughter. I remember playing in the water with you
and with Mom, You didn’t care for swimming like she did.
Neither do I. But I remember you, Dad, working so hard-
most of my childhood you were working 3 jobs. You were a good
Provider, role model, and Father. The times I enjoyed most were of course,
when we went here- to the Lake. And annual family
vacations. I remember building sandcastles and eating
baloney sandwiches & chips at picnic tables. And the snow forts you built!
I remember waiting for you to come home on Friday Pay Days
so we could have a treat- Stewart’s Root Beer or Ice Cream or pizza.
Now I sit waiting for you to GO home...
slowly I am letting go...
finding the courage to face the future without
you here. But we will reunite on the golden street, and
then I will know what you are soon to see.
I love you, Dad.
Have a great flight into The Light of the World.
