Anna Lift, 10 Years

I’ve been noodling on this Anna Lift since it was posted and have been in awe of the posts to it. I finally was able to use the Easy Torn Edges Template. I don’t know why I was making it so hard; it really is easy.

We brought Tilly home from the pound 10 years ago this month. We had gone the day before to check out another very feral dog Ron wanted to see, which at first glance I didn’t like at all. So, I went inside to check out the rest. As I walked up and down the aisles of cages, most of the dogs were making a terrible ruckus, which I also wasn’t interested in. And then I got to the last cage, there was 6 mo. old Tilly. She just stood there and watched me. I put the back of my hand up to the fence, and she calmly walked up and nuzzled against it the best she could. And that was how she chose us! We wanted to sleep on it but couldn’t wait to go back the next day and get her. We were worried someone else might. The small photo is when she knew she was coming home with us.

The right-side photo of Tilly was placed full size on a 12x12 foundation. The left side photo was clipped to the Easy Torn Edges mask, aligning them as close as possible. Some masking was done on the mask, torn edge and shadow layers. Thin Strips masks were arranged on the right side to get the best coverage. At this point, two Jouissance papers were placed below the photos and blended. Both groups of photos/masks were selected and transformed smaller and moved to make room for title/elements, and the FotoInspired frame/lace. The small photo was extracted, APP Sugar transfers and Manly paper clipped between the photo and mask. Completed with journaling, Jouissance paint, transfers, splatters, a custom title with MM City 1-1 and glows behind word art.

Wow, this is wonderfully creative! I love the story of Tilly. You can feel the joy in the picture when she knew she had a new home. I love the title design.

Gorgeous use of effects and deeply personal journaling! Thank you for sharing!

This is so beautiful. I love the torn papers and how they go down her face. I love the journaling. Tillys sweet face in both photos. So much love. I love how she picked you.

WOW, stunning ♥love your fantastic blending and use of the papers and textures, so clever how you compared the two photos with the 10 year gap, wonderful take on the Challenge♥

This is so sweet, and a wonderful use of the torn edges and neutral colors to tell the story. Cher has been with us for 9 years, adopted when she was 1, so they're about the same age. It's funny unless you watch a dog closely you might not even know how they age. Love the puppy photo!

Absolutely glorious design and story and that happy photo of a smiling Tilly is the icing on the cake. I love the torn edges. I really love your torn-edge treatment--haven't worked with them yet, but we recently lost a grand-cat to cancer and I have been thinking about how to best accomplish a tribute page. I think you have given me all the inspiration I need. <3

Love the split photos of the young and present pup! A story of love and devotion returned to a family. Beautiful page and congrats on the feature!
