3 days to get this right ....My cousin Sandy 'got' me. No matter how long we were apart it was yesterday. Soul sisters forever. Walks 500, the El Camino in January & February, fine at reunion in July, diagnosed stage 4 pancreatic August, gone in March...Cancer sucks. The End

Journaling reads:
Hi Sweet Cuz! I was standing on the beach yesterday trying to stay upright while Mother Ocean was flexing her muscles, but she was proving who, exactly was in charge. It's amazing how little control we have over life in general. I took the footprint pictures and likened them to you and me, side by side forever even though our trajectories are different at this particular point in time. I stood in the surf and felt the sands shifting back and forth beneath my feet and I thought one big one will knock me flat but you my sweet cousin have had your sand shift so many times and each time you handled it with grace positivity and a smile on your face. You are my inspiration. I sat in the sand for an hour just staring at the shifting waves, hopefully I didn't get sand fleas. Seriously though when I got up to leave, the footprints were gone, but I know the grains are still there together forever Sweet Cuz.

Oh Jeanne this got me. Its so perfect. It was worth the work it took to get perfect because you did get it perfect. The footprints :crying1: still connected by the grains of sand. Oh my gosh this makes me weepy. I feel the pain and anguish yet the hope and promise of tomorrow. Such a beautiful layout!!!

Jeanne, this is beautifully designed. I can feel your pain in your journaling. When you have that deep, heartfelt connection with a loved one, it is there forever in life and in death. Her footprints are on your heart. Hopefully the memories of what you cherished together will help you to move forward.

Thank you so much @AK_Tracy It kind of took over my life, but I wanted it to honor her beautiful spirit.

Thank you so much @bitzee That was one of the texts I sent her from Key West. She loved the pictures, especially the sunrises & sunsets. She was kind & humble, and I was blessed to have her as my cousin.

This really touched my heart. It's a lovely double page with a heartfelt story.
Thank you so much, it came straight from the heart I think that's why it took me so long. It's a text I sent her from Key West.

Dang, that sucks for sure! What a great tribute spread though, just beautiful. And your journaling is fabulous too
