(Those blue wings aren’t because their wings
have blue pigment, but rather by up to a million tiny overlapping scales that are arranged in a
diamond pattern of several thin layers which reflect lights again and again to create intense color.)

Journaling reads: Who needs the Met Gala and those “bug ugly” dresses when you can wear a sequined jacket all of the time.
This is beautiful! The iridescent wings provide a spectacular "jacket". I love all the bubbles, the sparkle, and the glitter. I especially love the little butterflies on the font capital letters.

Thank you so much, they were tricky to catch with their wings open because they were brown when closed. I had to laugh, I caught this pic when he landed on a turtle crossing sign.

How lucky, to see this butterfly in the wild! We have them at the butterfly house at our local zoo, and yes, it is a challenge to see them with their wings open!

Your story about the photo capture is amazing. Timing is indeed everything.
A beautiful page and something new learned-that when wings are closed they are brown. Are they tropical?

Thank you, so much. This was at the Butterfly Conservatory in Key West. They are constantly flitting & fluttering around so still tricky to get a picture.

Yes, they are rainforest butterflies from Mexico, Central & South America. They only have a 2 week lifespan.

what a beautiful butterfly.
Congratulations on the photo.
I know the problem with butterfly photos (unfortunately) only too well.
I love the photo treatment and the tone-on-tone in petrol in the background.
