A spread using the forthcoming ArtPlay Minipalette Nova, offered free with $20 purchase as part of the big Spring Sale running from February 26 to March 4
This is the first of 3 (or 4) spreads documenting a Grandma-and-me getaway with some of the kids to a peninsula house in the Berkshire Mountains earlier this month. What drove this spread is the beaver in the video, who popped through the ice and did a tail slap for me after I had been manifesting seeing beavers for days. So I chose to position the QR code front and center on the left page. There are actually two photos on the left page—the big one showing my sight line to the action in the video, and the second, blended into the first, showing the beaver. You can't really see the beaver unless you supersize the layout but I know it's there and to make sure I don't forget, I surrounded it with gold and white spatter as a visual cue. The framed photo shows beaver tracks found by my SIL. The right page is a FotoInspired page and I am using this same set of FotoInspired templates for the rest of the spreads, too. I'm batching the layouts, letting the photo masks dictate the imagery and crops, for purposes of speed and simplicity. I did remove all the photo-mask filters, because Picaboo (the printer I use) tends to oversaturate colors and I knew leaving in the filters would be asking for trouble.
