Stories Untold - Uncanny

The only thing I know for sure is this is my paternal grandfather, Lewis Lacy, in his high school graduation cap and gown, with his adoptive parents Dr. & Mrs. Moore. I believe that is Mrs. Moore on the front porch of their home in Iowa in the early 1900’s. I wish I knew more about Papaw’s story. I know he was born April 1, 1908, in Davenport, Iowa. But I don’t know how old he was when he was adopted. I know he had a successful business career in insurance and became Corporate Secretary for Sunray DX in Tulsa. He ran, unsuccessfully, for Tulsa County Tax Commissioner. I like to think he was too good and honest to be a politician.

Solid Paper 1 (Hue/Sat adj) and Solid Paper 3 (blend mode Color Burn) were placed for the foundation. The house photo was clipped to the grouped FotoBlendz, some layers adjusted, transformed, and/or filled with a cream color. The metal clasp frame was placed, the small photo and an ArtsyKardz were clipped to the masks. The owl charm was placed on the left side. Transfers, overlays, etc. from the palette were brought in with various blend modes, gold accents were enhanced with blend modes Vivid Light or Linear Light. Embellished with the MultiMedia and typewriter, word art, splatters, and journaling.

Beautiful heritage layout! I like how you have the pen cluster going up the side of the house. That is excellent framing using the lace that matches the scrollwork on the house. If you can't tell, I like architecture. My grandparents are from Iowa too (Sioux City) but were not "well-to-do" with 15 kids, so their house was much simpler.

This is wonderful. I like the journaling, the artsy design and the old heritage color palette.

Great composition with the foreground elements and the house in the background. At least you have some great photos to feature!

Thank you, but to be perfectly honest here, I didn't notice the pen was lined up with the roof line until I was done, AND I didn't really notice the scrollwork until you mentioned it. So LOL at me! But thanks for pointing those out. I just wish I knew more about his life in general. It appears he was very lucky to have been adopted by the Moore's.

Fascinating facts about your grandfather. Love the photo in the metal frame and the blending of the house. Wonderful heritage page!
