The only thing I know for sure is this is my paternal grandfather, Lewis Lacy, in his high school graduation cap and gown, with his adoptive parents Dr. & Mrs. Moore. I believe that is Mrs. Moore on the front porch of their home in Iowa in the early 1900’s. I wish I knew more about Papaw’s story. I know he was born April 1, 1908, in Davenport, Iowa. But I don’t know how old he was when he was adopted. I know he had a successful business career in insurance and became Corporate Secretary for Sunray DX in Tulsa. He ran, unsuccessfully, for Tulsa County Tax Commissioner. I like to think he was too good and honest to be a politician.
