My Mom died suddenly when I was in my 30s. For years I felt cheated that she was taken away from me. I often lamented "why me?" I wanted to be that middle-aged woman who took her elderly Mom to brunch every Sunday. One day I came across this quote from Dr. Suess. It made me realize how lucky I was to have her love me unconditionally for my entire life. A loving and supportive mother is a blessing—one that many don't have. So now, I savor her memories instead of wallowing in sadness.
