April 28 letter. Dad was transported from the front lines to Teagu, S. Korea to Yokosuka, Japan, then Otsu, Japan within a week or so after his injury, desperate for mail and wondering what his future holds.
Seems like I've been working on this spread forever. I could not get past that map, which I composited together to get S. Korea and Japan on one easily readable map. As Anna says, a huge time-suck. I fretted about it for days, then once I decided, I finished both pages 8-9 in one day.
I have made a few changes, the font used for the letters, for one. It seemed better suited, like a hand-written font and I think easier to read, not to mention it takes up less space. I'll go back and fix the previous ones later. I did add some paper textures, also Anna's suggestion. And after I'd already saved the files to post, added a Helicopter brush from Aircraft No 1 brush set in the top right corner.
