I started with Template Album p 7. So far, I have used the templates in order, and they seem to be working out very well for me. I wanted to put at least one letter of Dad’s in his own handwriting, and this 2-page letter happened to fit nicely on this page with two small fotoblendz. His handwriting was nice and neat, not rushed, as it is in some of his other letters. The letter didn’t scan well because he wrote on both sides, and it was barely legible. Blend modes or other adjustments didn’t work. So, I thought, well I’ll just mask it. HA! I spent a ridiculous amount of time brushing out the background on both pages with a hard round brush around every single letter, period, apostrophe, etc., saved as a png then made a PS brush, which was the easiest part. I got the result I wanted, but I won’t be doing that again.
Anyway, I adjusted the fotoblendz and stain colors to match the left side. I clipped photos, letters or Artsy Kardz to the masks, adjusting colors as needed. Added elements, journaling, Postage Brushes and Artsy Stains.
PS: Dad wrote about Peg a couple more times, but I don’t know if she ever wrote him. Shortly after he got back home, he met my mom, Carol, and Peg was never mentioned again. And full disclosure: I replaced a racist term in the letter with ‘enemy’.
