Arriving

Back from our annual family vacation in Cape Cod and kicking off a new project with the title page of Cape Escape 2023 . Let the puzzle of scrapping over 500 photos begin! For this book, my goal is to work consecutively rather than hop around scrapping days out of order as I usually do. The book will be gifted to each family for Christmas, and it's already less stressed than last year because it feels like the printing deadline is nice and far away. These photos are of the house before move-in: The first family to arrive is charged with snapping a few photos so we can remember what the house looked like before we filled it up with our stuff.

Process:
Enlarged the template layers to move things away from the edges since there is page loss at the trim lines in printing
Removed the fourth frame
Substituted a standard frame for narrow frames #1 and #2, and tugged narrow frame #3 a little wider
Journaled
Added background (Artsy #1), positioned journaling
Added two Fotoblendz, one on top of the other
Built title cluster
Added photos—so many photos in my files
Embellished and added a few layers from Artsy Transfer #5

Wow looks like a super place to relax. Good for you to feel organized and non-stressed to get the album completed. This is a perfect start.

I'm a consecutive scrapper, wish I could break away from that - ha ha! House looks wonderful! too bad is wasn't as advertised - we've had that problem, like, yes there is a grill, oh, you want it to actually work! Great intro, I really like that alpha! The peach and turq are great!

this looks like a wonderful holiday home.
i like your great title work and the background design in "watercolour technique".
looking forward to the other 500 shots :).

What I've learned from this trip (and others) is "don't rent a house with no or few reviews." If nothing else, it signals an inexperienced landlord who probably hasn't yet made all the usual mistakes. This guy, e.g., who is just getting started renting, didn't do a seasonal tune-up on the HVAC, so didn't find and fix the leak (which consumed the first several hours of my vacation and it never did get fixed).

The house looks fabulous at first appearance. But you never know what you're going to get. We rented a house in the Catskills, but didn't know that you had to drive miles on a dirt road to get there and there were a few other problems too. But the time with family was priceless!

We got over everything pretty quickly too because of the fun component, but the one thing that twisted my brain was that by removing a chunk of the fence, the pool was accessible to the grands directly from the house. No gate. Never would have rented if the photos had shown how the house is rather than how it was. Everything was super-okay but still...my worry meter was running.

Looks like a nice spot. I would not have been happy with an undisclosed, unfenced pool with lots of littles around. Glad it all turned out for the best. Love this older alpha.

That alpha grabbed me too. It was in a random file that I keep called aA Cool Stuff and I happened to open it and...bingo! Yeah, that fence really was a mind-bender. Can't believe it was okay with Massachusetts bldg code/insurance carriers.
