Felling Trees

Done for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #4 found here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/january-challenge-4-tic-tac-toe-challenge.36738/

I used the center column: stacked papers, photo, foliage

Journaling reads: Felling trees can be tricky business. Mark is as careful as he can be when he is working on one. He always makes sure no one is in harm’s way should the tree fall in a direction not intended even when he has it tied off in the direction he wants it to go.
This particular tree is 20” in diameter and stood about 65 feet tall, give or take. He was able to get 6 usable 8 ft. lengths. You can see how nice and straight the tree grew!
Now to run those 8 ft. sections through the sawmill. 1/21/23

Process:
I began with Anna’s template.
I replaced the background with papers from Joyful Heart, blending the top 2 and rotating them.
I hid all photo areas but the canvas I added the photo to.
I moved the template paints, texture, etc. around so the paper could be seen better.
All of the other elements were added from the kits by Anna.

Oh, I love it... and great seeing the tree that will soon be sliced into planks for the cabin! Like the paper stacking and clustering and how you set off the journaling with the brackets. So glad you joined the challenge and shared this with us.

So much to unpack here. First, that photo is amazing...love the perspective on that shot! I love the journaling that you wrote to explain the process. Then, the beautiful cluster at the bottom of the photo. Everything is placed perfectly! Congratulations on that well deserved Standing O!

Terrific perspective on the photo! It looks really nice on the woodsy, watercolor background.
Congrats on the Standing O!

I love the whimsical woodland images stamped onto the woodgrain paper. Congrats on your Standing O!

Love the topic and perspective of the tree. My husband tried to cut off his foot this summer with a chainsaw while cutting down trees. He was very lucky!

Love the collection wooden papers, elements, frames etc you collected in this harmonious layout

Congratulations on your Standing O, Vicky! This is a bit of family history preserved for the future - your descendants will know you for generations to come!

WOW! I'm certainly glad to hear he didn't manage to!
