Journaling:
Family lore says she lived in the same tiny home for more than a century. Birth to death. During that time she went out exactly eight times. Groceries were delivered every Tuesday. Someone came regularly to clean and do laundry. Still someone else maintained the yard. Her time was spent reading. She had thousands of books. Mysteries, biographies, travel logs, instructional manuals, cookbooks, the classics, and the not so classics.
There is no real explanation for the way she lived. On the back of the photo, scrawled in her mother’s hand, are the words “delicate flower.” A clue or simply an observation? Now, the house sits empty except for her books. Her will provides that her sister’s 10th linear descendant shall inherit the premises with the stipulation that he/she continue to maintain her library. Last month, Rayne was born. She is the 10th.
