Oh goodness! Bluebirds are such beauties! I've only seen them a couple of times and it was such an exciting moment.

Yes, they are fun to watch and plentiful around here. We're down to just one birdhouse now though. We destroyed one (with shotgun) last year with two huge snakes inside, and the 1-day old babies were gone. The black snakes are always after the eggs and the babies, so I have to keep an eye out.

They are so small! and grew to be so beautiful! Love how you've put this story in the book format.
I'm glad these survived.
We have to keep a close eye on the hummingbird nest in our magnolia tree because, even though well hidden, the neighbor's cat knows it's there and tries to climb the tree to get to the next.

I love the story here, and the visuals are so engaging. We have swallows who take over the bluebird boxes in our area, but they're so territorial with other swallows that if you erect a second box nearby, they allow the blues to nest peacefully. So it's diversion. The snake thing...yikes.
