I've always thought that Foxeysquirrel's kit would be perfect for genealogy pages, where you don't have any images of your ancestors. Finally got around to try it.
Translation:
Catharina Harkman was my great great great great great great great grandmother. She was born on October 12, 1711 in Romfartuna, Västmanland [Sweadish county], and was the daughter of vicar Widich Harkman and his wife Brita Lidman. Catharina marries Johannes Gezelius who also was a vicar. Together they have seven children, before Johannes has his divorce granted from his wife in 1750, "as she drinks, smokes, dances in her underwear and fraternizing with farm-workers and their likes". She dies in 1751 from edema.
Drinks, smokes dances in her underwear? Sounds like someone that is a lot of fun! I love how you know so much about one of your ancestors from so long ago.
Wow! This is a wonderful page, Eva. I was thinking divorce was unusual in this time frame then had to catch myself. It was only unusual if the petitioner was a woman. Men could get one any time they wanted. She must have been quite the character!
