With the first three days of our December trip actually in November, we'd keep the Thanksgiving weekend at home from feeling too long. But we'd have to wait longer for our Moab trip in January. The word for how we felt between trips is 'fernweh.' We'd get it pretty much every month anyway.

The Kruger fire started early on the 16th when high winds blew a tree onto a power line. That night, a single-engine air tanker crashed near the fire, killing the pilot.
Estes Park is beautifully lit every evening and shops are so welcoming for the holidays
We watched news about the Kruger fire closely bacause it threatened Estes Park and Fawn Valley Inn where we were planning to stay.

Love the whimsy of the cottages/shops and pastel colors. However the fires near Estes Park sound serious, especially the death of a pilot. Enjoy your trip and Thanksgiving.

What a contrast between the whimsy of the images and the documentation of the story. Love it! Travel plans sound good--we are starting to think about for New Mexico in Spring.

Love the whimsy and the idea that while looking at your book there will be page after page of beautiful scenery and then wham! something totally different that shows your range as an artist. Fantastic pages.
