Inspiration – There are trees in bloom everywhere now so I find myself taking photos.
Start – New Document
Paper – moved Artsy Paper 1 unto the background
Photo – I played with my photo in Topaz 2 after watching some YouTube tutorials. I placed it on the page over the paper.
Mask- Masks make life easy for the scrapper and I love using them. I used MultiLayered Fotoblendz 8.5 which I placed slightly off-center under the photo layer and then grouped the layers and attached the photo using Layer>Create Clipping Mask.
Transfer-Used Artsy Transfer 4 in the upper right edge for some texture for the page.
Elements – Now I decided I want a diagonal design, so I keep this in mind as I place elements. First I add the leaves under the photo appearing to peak out from the flowers. A duplicated copy I added above the photo and erased a couple of leaves. Then I placed the bee on one of the leaves and added a drop shadow. Then I added a butterfly from the Butterfly Value pack which I recolored to match my colors by adding a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and using the selection tool to pick the color and then only that color is changed. I attached the layer to the butterfly using Layer>Create Clipping Mask. I placed it above the flowers. I used another one and filled it with pink using Edit>Fill. And placed on a diagonal to the first butterfly below the flowers. The Blend Mode is set to Darken.
Words. I used a word transfer in the lower-left corner to help with that diagonal look. And the wordart is Photo graph I placed above the flowers. The upper left and lower right corners are left pretty much blank except for the paper to keep that diagonal arrangement.
Beautiful close-up. I love these trees with pink flowers, and we have whole streets lined with them, and I have two of them.. My favorite shade of pink, too.
