One year into the pandemic ... this is a reflection of what my husband refers to as my "covid freak." I started collecting toilet paper rolls as a joke, but ended up with 54 of them after a year. Baking bread was my therapy.
Process
A solid paper from APP Riant was used as the foundation of the page. The Architexture brush was stamped onto the page. An artsy paper from APP Quanitville was clipped to the brush, duplicated 3 more times with the blending mode changed to linear burn. This gave the brush some color and texture. The image of the toilet paper rolls was extracted with a custom shadow added. Dimensional embellishments were added to decorate the rolls. The page was completed by adding transfers, splatters, a paper texture and word art.
Wow you used a lot of stuff to make this great page! So many favorites - the house in the background, the stamps, the caged lady I think I bought more than 54 - the only thing I could find was a case of individually wrapped, gas-station grade rolls, on Amazon Also like the light text giving subtle context to it all!
Wonderful ART! So creative and fun and thoughtfully done.
I don't collect the rolls but as an experiment I wrote Sun 10/1 9p inside of one with a marker, and even after I learned they last exactly a week I didn't quit doing it.
This is such a fantastic looking page - but then when I read the story behind it and really see the details of your design, it's FANTASTIC! What a HOOT that you used the rolls as the foundation for your homes. I love all the details and the news bits included. Just wonderful.
p.s. I have a pinterest board for cute crafty things you can do with those rolls!
Une page témoignage d'une période compliquée, j'aime vos maisons avec vos rouleaux de papiers, tous vos éléments, beaucoup d'imagination Miki et superbement fait, bravo !!!
