My memories from Alaska are few but I do remember playing in an igloo. I have no memory of when or where. When I have asked, neither Mom nor Dad remembers. It must have made an impression on me because I remember a pretty glow of light. Perhaps it was at Fur Rondy?

Like many military bases around the world, seasonal displays are set up around the bases. Alaska was no exception. This display was at the Federal Prison Camp. FPC’s are minimum security. The housing is dormitory-style. This one was located on Elmendorf AFB. I haven’t been able to find any references for this camp. Today Alaska has no Federal prisons.
