There was an insurrection on January 6th, the day the electoral votes would be counted by Congress, and Trump wanted desperately to stay in power only to avoid prosecution for his crimes. So he planned a coup in the Capitol. People were killed. We were angry and grieved for days.

Not sure when the grief will go away, but later I can always change the last sentence from days to weeks.
I feel for you, my friend. It feels like a nightmare that will not end, but I have faith that it will end. Still, there is no getting back the time lost, the regression this country has experienced. Your art is outstanding! I was thinking along the same lines - contrast between the very ugly and the very beautiful. I love the layering of those tiles (and they remind me of my wonderful trip to Portugal)!

How great you have used the photos of the disgusting attack on the Capitol, I hope they can catch all these antisocial rioters. We were baffled by all this senseless violence that Trump himself has provoked, I hope that with Joe Biden peace will return, I hope also he will make America great again! We saw also these awful photos in our News papers and on TV, what an incredible amount has been destroyed.

I love these documentation pages very much, so well done!

we followed this insurrection, with the capture of the Capitol symbol of democracy, live! we felt like we were in a totally surreal bad movie!
when will I be out of the way to harm this dangerous megalomaniac. Too bad the police were not so zealous against these barbarians, that it is against anti-racism demonstrators!!

Well documented, photos and journaling! Love the balance of color between the two pages. I'm still stunned by the events from Wednesday's assault and continue to unfold.

January 6th, such a day of sadness--I had been in Statuary Hall not too long ago with my grandchildren and wept to see such desecration. I am hopeful these insurrectionists will be prosecuted to the fullest along with others that incited them to riot. A wonderful documentation page although I hope soon we will have these type of headlines gone from our lives!

Hard to imagine (or maybe not?) that this is what we have come to. I like how you included so many different faces from that day. The other side is beautiful with the tiles and flowers.
