I have always loved the black and white drawings in books before colour inks were available and thought it would be interesting to create one.
The pair of lovers is taken from a vintage Christmas card and de-saturated and the contrast increased. From there I de-saturated the numerous scene pieces and built the background illustration. To add further textures a frosty edge frame was placed on top. Just for fun I coloured in the holly.
