Some places are so beautiful that it makes you silent, the Begijnhof in Bruges is undoubtedly one of them! The Begijnhof was founded in 1245 by Margaret of Constantinople, Countess of Flanders, and is located just next to the Minnewaterpark. The Begijnhof is characterized by the small white houses with an impressive courtyard with beautiful trees and flowers. Today there are no more beguines, but since 1927 a monastic community of Benedictes has been established. The entrance gate can be reached via the Wijngaardbrug.
