Ed Benguait

APP Caducous

Edward Benguait the iconic typographer has crafted over 600 typefaces in his lifetime, many of which we used to adorn our pages in Oscraps. Bookman, Tiffany, Ford, Panache, Edwardian Script and Benguait and Benguait Gothic are amoung the many.
After serving in the AirCorp in WWII he came home and was a renowned jazz precussionist playing with such greats as Stan Kenton and Woody Herman. He soon enrolled at the Workshop School of Advertising where under Paul Standard, he studied layout, design, typography and calligraphy.
"I do not think of type as something that should be readable, it should be beautiful." EBenguait
What a wonderful story and tribute and a great way to use the Caducous paper! I've learned something - thank you!

A wonderful homage, beautifully scrapped. I especially like the large "B" and think Mr. Benguiat would be pleased.
