I visited Wilsons Lick Ranger Station last Sunday with my son for video and photos. Built in 1916, it was the first Ranger Station in the Nantahala National Forest. Off the beaten path, this long and winding road leads you to times past. The preserved site gives you a glimpse of the past and what the settlers here endured to create a living in this remote and beautiful part of the Appalachian mountains. At the end of the road, there is a stone tower. It was too foggy Sunday for us to photo at the tower, but we will return. The Bartram and Appalachian trails intersect here.
Wonderful photos! I can feel the subtle shift in the seasons through your photos!

This would be just up my alley! I love your photos and the sense of place you capture. A wonderful layout.
