Heavy flowers on longer and lankier stems would droop more and more each year. When we tore out the whole garden, I wanted to save some, but it wasn't possible. I miss them a lot, especially mid-July, but I do know I made the right decision.

Instead of coneflowers, daisies and daylilies, we'd keep just one pot of red canna lilies on our patio. A 14-day heat wave rolled through the state, with record high temperatures, so we shielded our "garden" under the market umbrella. We spotted a hummingbird, but only time would tell if he'd stay.
beautiful design. love the prominently pictured flowers with the butterfly and your wonderful background.

Lots oof work extracting all those coneflowers--wonderful. Love the framing and your textured sky. Nothing stays the same, does it?

Due to the weather, flowers also come and go to my garden.
This double page is very page!

this is lovely! I love purple cone flowers - I don't have any but there are many wonderful samples in our neighborhood. Must have been hard to tear out the garden - I couldn't do it - my husband and I bicker all the time about tearing our overgrown things - I stubbornly refuse :) Love that dotted frame ad the different font used for the journaling - making it somehow more heartfelt :)

Love your cone flowers with the blue sky and butterfly! Mine were torn out last year and I wasn't able to get any new plants this year! Love the framing!

Beautiful layout and you're so right about the "lanky" stems. When we lived up north, I always hated to have to get rid of any of mine, too.

With me there are also some frozen, but did you know that you can extract seed yourself? I did it last year, I still have mini plants and hopefully flowers will come again next year!

Wow amazing extraction !!!
