USA Brushes coming out today.
Inspiration The colors make you think of flags and servicemen. I also have wanted to maybe creat something artsy like I see in the gallery though I haven't the talent that some have. But I can play and have fun. I have learned that the worst that happens is few people stop to comment. So if no one is going to tell me I did a horrible job. Well why not play and try something new. Sometimes when I try this I am surprised that others like it. I am saying all this so if you read maybe you will be encouraged to try something.
Start with a new document
Photos I found a picture on Unsplash that is from the Boston Public Library. I placed it on the page and then placed 6 thin masks over the photo. I moved the picture above the first mask, made a copy and moved it above the next masks. I did this until there was a photo above each mask. Then I attached the photos to the masks using Layer>Create Clipping Mask.
Paper I placed Solid Paper 2 above the background.
Transfers I selected Artsy Transfer 2 and placed at the right top but the I reduced the opacity of the red layer so that it didn't distract from the picture. Then I placed Transfer 6 in the lower left.
Masks with the paper and transfers under the photos I decided to adjust the masks, sometimes changed the size, sometimes erasing parts, other times adding to them with the brush and black, and all have their Blend Mode adjust to help emphasize the picture.
Elements I decided MultiaMedia USA Flag1 unto an area where you really donly see much of the picture. But I selected some of the postage stamps that make up the flag and moved them. I though it went with my fractured them plus sort of gave it some movement. I placed the Navy string over the bottom of the flag. I took the star from MultiMediaSalute 5 and the heart for MultiMediaSalute 1 and placed over the string. I first clicked on the string thumbnail in layers and when them menu popped up clicked on select pixels and then I click on the star thumbnail and erased the part of the star that was over the string so that it appeared the string came therough the hole in the star. I added a drop shadow to the heart and star.
Brush-I placed the Mount Rushmore USA Brush over the blue part of the Artsy Transfer 2..
Title I used the a wordart Land and Brave along with typed words of the to create a title. I used an adjustment layer to color the words Land and Brave (I used Channel Mixer because Hue/Saturation didn't give me enough color} I also added a drop shadow to these words.
There play time is done. Now I hope others will take a little time to play.
fabulous.. love this and fantastic blending and brushwork. I have Mount Rushmore on my list of things to go and see... I love the one on Stone Mountain in Georgia.. fabulous with the soldiers blending i also.. yes Land of the Brave. Beautiful!

Love how you made the flag from the stamps and the memories of the various wars we have fought--very poignant

This is fabulous!!! I read your comments about how you were unsure if you could do this. I would never have known that you haven't been creating art like this for years! There is so much to look at! I see the flag, the soldier's helmet, I see "ethereal beings" (maybe you didn't intend that, but they're beautiful and could represent those who have given their lives for our country. This is just beyond wonderful! Your blending is superb and I know it look a long time! A Standing O for you! https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showpost.php?p=636821&postcount=110
