We asked the hotel for early check-in, and they said yes and yet it was not to be. So there I was having had way too much coffee for a trip to the top of the mountain. We drove up to Cottonwood Lake and found a nice forest floor where I could try to recover from a rough trip. It was a beautiful day.
The coffee part of it is coffee worsens high altitude sickness. The 3 bucks part of it is we were amused that we paid a federal day use fee to use the park.
