Process
Artsy paper 2 from MiniPalette Lorn was used as the foundation of the page. The photo of my grandfather was clipped to a fotoblendz mask and placed on the left side of the page. A frame for MM Patriarch was layered on the right side of the page with the blending mode changed to hard light. The image of my grandfather was extracted and layered inside the frame (blending mode changed to hard light). A layer mask was added and the lower half on the image was brushed out. The image was duplicated, flipped horizontally, resized and moved to the top part of the frame. Brushes, an overlay and splatters were added. The page was completed by adding word art and dimensional embellishments.

Thank you for looking!
This is so sad about the children in those days poverty was a lot to blame and the circumstances people lived in your page is very moving.tfs.Standing O for you.

Love the haircut and the period fashion. Many of the children died of disease that was poorly controlled at that time.At a glance,Frank appears healthy but with other siblings, their illnesses were passed to each other.Love the thought provoking view of your layout.

my dad remembered wearing a "dress" as a young boy - love the repetition of the photo and love the pale pink flower - such sad journaling but must be remembered - gorgeous heritage page

Gorgeous! Sad that so very many children did not survive to adulthood...

An absolutely beautiful page, with nice movement between the two photos, with the Story words. It is so very sad about the loss of young children. It must have been very tender, and heart breaking times to watch it happen. I Love your Page...it's very remarkable! Congrats on the Standing O!!

Totally engaging heritage page! You can still see the Victorian fashion influence here even at the end of the period. I discovered a similar situation in my paternal great great grandparents family...they lost 4/8 children at young ages in the span of a few years in the 1860s. Research showed soldiers on board a ship from Europe landed in Canada and carried Cholera to US Army forts.
