Photoshop Elements 14
This is an unlikely winter layout because my pink wool coat (fifteen years old and still a staple in my wardrobe) doesn't really send out a winter vibe. But when this color challenge was posted, I immediately saw an opportunity to get this photo scrapped and into my newly walking grandson's photo book. I started with a blank canvas, stamping on a variety of the #4 Artsy Blending brushes as clipping masksI chose this set for this layout because 1) I am lazy and use this set continually for everything and so why not this, and 2) I happen to like the distressing on these brushes, which I knew would work well with the photo of us walking around a deserted college campus before Christmas (don't ask). I clipped my photo and duplicates of the photo to the brushes, and also clipped papers from the Artplay Palette to them. After fiddling with blend modes, I added a paper to the background then also to the top of the layer stackon multiply modefor further distressing. That move is a holdover from my grunge days, but I still like what a paper on top will do for a layout in terms of texture and color, though these days opacity is usually greatly reduced. A few embellishments and the wordART finished up my unlikely pink winter layout. At the last moment I picked up a warm Fotoglo and a transfer from two other Artplay Palettes to add a little light in the central part of the layout.
