love leaves its mark

The journaling is from a very short story. I only had room for part of the story. If you'd like to read the last few paragraphs you can find them here https: //www.storybytes.com/ view-stories/1999/family-portrait.html. You won't be disappointed.

Process...

I started with ArtsyPaper No.1 from the new APP Verdure. I took the .psd version of the frame from Verdure and placed it a little off-center of the page. I clipped my photo to the mask layer that comes with the frame. Over the frame, I placed one of the Verdure FotoBlendz masks. I used the .png version of the mask and clipped my photo to the mask. I masked the mask a little to get dad to show up without most of the background behind him in the photo (just shadow). I also added a little to the mask at the bottom to allow for the hands to show up. Next, I built up the areas over and under the frame with the lace, ribbon, berries, leaves, pine cone, and wood chips. I reduced the saturation of the berries and the leaves with a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer so they wouldn't overwhelm the lace. I used a paper texture to create the frame around the page. When I was done with the four sides, I merged the layers then masked out portions of the frame to make it lighter. I added A LOT of gold paint on the left to help give a better base to the elements and to pick up the gold on the right, connecting the two sides of the page. To fill in spaces that needed " a little something," I added the artstrokes from APP Verdure. Added the title and journaling and called it done.

Thanks for looking :)
