I played with the Difference filter to get the blue on the top papers then used various brushes to mask off enough so the the ogre could 'crawl through' to the top layer. Elements of pumpkins and leaves were layered to add depth to the ground area.
The photo from pixabay was softly extracted to leave just a halo of light behind the ogre
