This spread follows a page (not shown in the gallery) where I talk about my daughter introducing me to the JOMO--Joy of Missing Out--concept midway through our almost-month-long European travels this past Spring. I had been obsessing over feeling that we weren't using every waking moment to best advantage ( FOMO--Fear of Missing Out), but she set us straight. And our magical time in Malaga was the result of this wonderful conversation with a very wise kid.

Since I used a template album, there isn't much to say about creating this spread. The aA albums make it so easy. The only thing I've routinely been doing for this project is adding a Fotoblendz Overlay down the centerline to incorporate another photo, but that is only possible because I spring for a lay-flat printing format for my travel books.

I wound up using quite a few brushes in various colors to tie the two pages of this spread together. Since my goal in a travel album is to record my personal impressions, I focus on the authenticity of the story, using the photos that best illustrate it. From there, I cope with the colors and shapes as best I can.
