Abandoned House

While driving on the back roads of Texas early one morning several years ago, we found this abandoned shack with the morning sun shining through the trees. Sadly, several years later, it could no longer withstand the elements and lays in a pile of rubble on the ground now. This is a tribute to it's glory days.

Process
A solid paper from APP Ochre was used as the foundation of the page. All the layers of Artsy Transfers Ochre_5 were dragged onto the page. The photo was clipped to the large transfer layer, duplicated with the blending mode changed to screen (reduced opacity of 50%). The photo was duplicated, again and clipped to the large white paint layer. The photo was duplicated for the fourth time with the blending mode changed to screen (reduced opacity of 25%). The blending mode of the large white paint layer was changed to color burn for more contrast. A warm glow was layered behind the photo layers. Stains and splatters from several of the other AT Ochre psd. Files were used to add dimension to the page. An artsy clock (blending mode changed to color burn) was added Word art and dimensional elements completed the page.

Thank you for looking!
Marvelous title cluster, Miki! This glowing tribute reminds me of all the lovely old houses/barns I've seen in disrepair and imagined in their glory days. Wish I could restore all of them!

Beautiful tribute. Looks like it would have been a wonderful place to spend time when it was in its youth.

Love the colors and warmth you've achieved here with such masterful use of blending the transfer layers!

This is marvelous... Everything that makes my heart go pitter-patter,then some!

Excellent testimonial to the shack AND to the power of gravity. As always, the embellishment cluster rocks!
