The Curtis Clan

Adding a modern twist to an old black and white photo. Found this photo in the stash from my Uncle. Not sure who these people were, but we must be related. Name and date found on back.

Process notes:
I used SolidPaper No. 4 as my background. I placed an UrbanThreadz frame with all its layers on the page. Clipped my black and white photo to the mask. To achieve its distinctive coloring, I added a color overlay set on the overlay blend mode, then I added a grey/black gradient blend mode. Added the Polaroid frame from the APP Ochre and a flower from the new MM flowers No. 6. Text was my final accent.

Thanks for looking.
A lovely heritage page. Love the frame edge with the dragonfly on i8t.

Fabulous heritage photo! Love the blending and how it looks like the sun is shining on them!

An effective modern twist, Christy! Super framing and title choice! This would make a cool cover for a fiction novel!

There's an enticing glow to this. Almost looks like they're feeling radiant to be remembered!

Love this colorhas a great vintagy look without being sepia or b&w. Love the cluster of blossoms, threads and insects.

Agree with the others..am always amazed with the older photos how they were so reluctant to smile.. Great use of light!
