I started this design as I usually do with a templateby turning off all the layers and then turning them all back on one by one after my photos and journaling are placed. I happened to use all of the layers on this template (that's not always the case), recoloring the stains and plumes to match my photos. I developed the background with a slew of transfers/overlays, slipping them behind the photo frames and jiggling them around into places that I liked. The embellishments came last. The photos were so busy (and some so blurry) that I resorted to selective coloration and conversion to black and white just to get some breathing room.
