Sometimes I just like to have fun with my scrap pages. I am not a tropical beach person. So I have not got pictures to go with the palm trees in the Watercolor Palm Trees. I thought of a picture of me in a lounge chair that I could manipulate to look like a tropical beach. But I could find one. So I began to think about a winter scene with palm trees. I tripped upon the melting snowmen. And that's where the idea of snowmen excaping winter came into my head.
Process
First I extracted the snowman, as I have explained before, using a mask. I placed the snowmen on the picture of Daytona Beach. I merged the two pictures. Then I added to the page. I added an inverted mask and with different brushes brought back part of the picture. I wanted a solid background and liked Solid Paper 1 for it beach like quality.
The melting snow men need a sun to do the melting. So I brought in MultiMedia Sun 2 which almost seemed to be smirking. I placed the sun on the right side and on the horizon because the sun appears to below in the picture and coming from the right side. Also there was a stain and art stroke on the right side that made a convenient spot to park the sun.
Next I added some palm trees with the Watercolor Palm tree brushes. The idea is that the snow men are melting in the sun so I added a paint layer at the bottom of the snow men and added a layer style to look a bit like pooling water.
To the word art I used for a title I added a stroke and a shadow. I had watched just that morning how to do this on Anna's class Title Smarts. I like that the white stroke made the title look wintry. Then I gave the snowmen and snowwoman names and wrote a little journaling. I changed the color and font on the word Quick to emphasis because it would be a quick trip.
I added a transfers with a bit of stain and splatter to give a little more texture to the page. It was silly and fun to create. Hope you had just a little laugh.
