I got up at 3:30 a.m. so I could pick up a friend and get to Perkins Cove before sunrise. It was magical.

Process

I wanted to use one of the FramedMasks so I experimented with a couple and settled on No 4. I moved it on to the page and Grouped the mask layers together by hitting on the Group icon. I placed the photo above the group and used Layer>Create Clipping Mask to attach it to the mask layers. I then moved the layers around so that I could place the photo where I want in the frame and still have it full cover the masks. I tweaked the mask with the brush tool and black paint.

Solid Paper 1 was added to the page. I placed Overlay 1 in the lower right corner. I added Transfer 4 in the upper left hand corner. I added Transfer 6 over the Overlay 1 to add a little texture. I used the Magic Wand in the tools to select the white area in Transfer 6 and clicked on the New Layer icon. I selected the new layer and then clicked on Edit>Fill and filled with a pink color which I reduced to an opacity of 21%. I also added the Splatter below the sun and transfer.

I added UrbanStitchezSun2.5 above the pink layer. I used a very low drop shadow on the stitching. I used some brushes to add texture to the page and to bring the colors of the photo even further out from the frame. I decided the to add the boat to my picture and resized it. Using Edit>Fill I filled it with 50% Gray so that it would be a silhouette like the chairs. I used the word strip "On the Day" as my Title placing a small drop shadow on it. Lastly the "time. moment.....etc" word art was placed almost like journaling. Once again I have created a diagonal flow.

Would love to have you join me in the chairs. LOL
What a stunning photo! I like the stitched sun shape. Congrats on your GSO!

I'm impressed with your 'get up and go'...especially since I'm not a morning person! Looks like it was worth the effort for sure...stunning photo, Joan! Congrats on the GSO!
