Tipping of the Hats

Completed in 1926, the Memorial Union tower was constructed as a tribute to 117 University of Missouri students who lost their lives in World War I. When the north portion was completed in 1950, the building was re-dedicated following World War II. When walking underneath the tower, the tradition calls for people to tip their hats and speak in a whisper to honor of the university's fallen soldiers. (Did my undergrad at University of Missouri Journalism School and 'Mizzou's' colors are black and gold.) Thanks for looking!

Process: Clipped photo on left to mask layer of MultiMedia frame; linked layers and placed on Patriarch Solid Paper 3. Clipped other photo to Linear FotoBlendz and placed under and to right of MultiMedia layers. Arranged transfers under images, recoloring some of the stains and shapes the same matte gold of Solid paper No. 2. Added textures and gold paint spatters. Finished with text and title, layering gold paint and glow under title.
There are many of these memorial buildings, also here in Ypres, Belgium, where many soldiers were killed.
Nice tribute page Marnie !

Love reading about traditions like this, a wonderful tribute page and the Multimedia Frame could have just been made for you to use.

My goodness, this is so special. The history and tradition are quite wonderful. And Missouri being my home state, this is heartwarming to see how you've created this wonderful page with historical interest! Bravo!
