On our last day we found the jeep roads just south of Boy Scout Road and Manhattan Road. But there was nothing much of note except very thick stands of aspens we had never seen growing so close together and some big and big ugly clearcut areas where many dead trees were left standing.

Only you could take a stand of trees that many of us would see as ordinary and present them in such a meaningful and special way. Gorgeous.

Really like that corrugated matte behind the trees. The Moorlands paper sets a bit of a dark mood prefacing the clearcut comments.

we had a group of "quaking" aspens ... their leaves would shimmer and dance in the smallest of breezes where the oaks and maples would just sway ...
