Notes: Starting with artsy paper 2 and bringing in the watercolor processed photo, blended to Linear Burn. Placing the light leaks over the photo and blending to Color Burn, I clipped a duplicate of the photo to it and blended to Overlay. I turned down the opacity of the light leaks. A transfer was blended into the waves at the right edge and a word transfer at the left edge was added and blended.

I typed out the title, positioning and using the Blend Ifs on the word ocean, sinking it into the page. I typed out the advice lines randomly and just left where they are.

Next came brush work, some of which isnt apparent to the eye. The splatters and stains are within the photo using colors from the page. The paper textures were also added at this time.

Bringing in the dimensional elements, the boat, shells and button, I stained them with colors from the page, blended, turned down the opacity and Blend Ifs used on each. The boat was duplicated and blended into itself. I used a layer mask to make it appear to be in the water after adding a drop shadow to it.

Finally I put the birds into the sky.
This is so amazing! I love the colors, the "waves" and ocean bottom, the messages hidden in the water. Beautiful!!

Stunning art, Barbara! Love the colors and that craggy texture in the foreground! Wondering if you've read Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh...one of my all-time favorite books.
