Process
Using an artsy paper as my base I added the photograph and converted it to a smart object and applied a paint dub filter I repeated this twice more converting to a smart object then applying a dry brush filter then a cutout filter on the last duplicated photograph.
I turned off the top two photograph layers and using an inverted mask brushed back most of the photo, using the option/alt key on the keyboard I clicked and dragged the inverted mask onto the next photograph ( a duplication) and repeated this until all three photograph layers had inverted masks. A soft light and overlay blending mode was applied to the top two photograph layers.
The compass and fire brushes were stamped and recoloured and a linear burn blending mode applied to both.
MMSun stitching and fotoglows were applied to the compass plus a piece of tape.
The campfire was duplicated and tape and textures applied.
Finally I added some embellishments and WordART were placed
